Less Than 2% of Democratic Party’s Money Went to Minority Firms
The Democratic Party loves to tout its diversity, but a new study found that the party doesn’t put its money where its mouth is. According to POLITICO, less than 2 percent of the party’s payments went to minority firms.
A report funded by Democratic donor Steve Phillips found that the Democratic Party has not reached out to minority consultants to bid on the millions of dollars available to pay political consulting firms.
“The fact that this is occurring under the first black president’s watch should be a wake-up call because it’s embarrassing,” said Democratic strategist and pundit Donna Brazile. “The people exist, the organizations exist, and the resources are there. This is a failure by those that are running and managing the party.”
