Jon Stewart Calls Out Republicans For Not Owning The Shutdown

No matter your political views there’s one thing we can all agree on, the First Amendment to the Constitution for the United States guarantees we’ll always have the right to express what’s on our minds.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This and the other 9 amendments referred to as the Bill of Rights are why so many are compelled to make it to the shores of the U.S.

However, we should also agree just because everyone with a particular point of view decides to play verbal gymnastics does not mean the truth doesn’t exist. For instance, no matter your view on the Affordable Healthcare Act (commonly referred to as Obamacare) or the Government Shutdown of 2014, one has to agree its all for political posturing in preparation for next year’s election. Right? (SIDEBAR: Did you know when this occurred during the Clinton administration, circa. 1996, the imposing party lost control of the House? Hmmm.)

How does one come to the table to make a deal come to terms (which are usually a gentleman’s agreements) and then decide to renege. Really? In the neighborhoods I’ve grown up in it would be said you’re no longer a person of your word.

John Stewart’s on point here…but, hey, what do we know right?
