Happy Founders’ Day
As we take this opportunity to reflect upon the momentous task and tradition our beloved Jewels codified 106 years ago today, we have to ask ourselves, have we done all we can to not only serve our respective communities, but to uplift the name of Alpha? No matter the answer let us take this time to pay homage to the seven men who decided “deliberately and purposefully to organize a fraternity.”
- Jewel Henry Arthur Callis
- Jewel Charles Henry Chapman
- Jewel Eugene Kinkle Jones
- Jewel George Biddle Kelley
- Jewel Nathaniel Alllison Murray
- Jewel Robert Harold Ogle
- Jewel Vertner Woodson Tandy
Their intentional act has made it possible for us to bask in the shade of accomplishments of all Alpha.
Let us recommit to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, today. Let’s do all we can to propel Alpha Forward. Let us work to liberate the children from a fettered life of commitments placed upon them by past generations. Let us work to redeem the purpose and worth of the family and the benefits of having a mother and father to model the behavior which will serve as a guide to the most moral of lives. Let us work to reconstruct our communities to represent the best we have to put forward.
Let us be Alpha Phi Alpha and move Alpha Forward!
Thank you for those timely words Bro. Mills. Happy Founder’s Day!
