VACAPAF Conference
Its been a while since we’ve updated the blog, so its only fitting to do so after visiting the great state of Virginia this weekend.
The VACAPAF Convention was held on the campus of Virginia Tech University; a HUMP from central Maryland. Felt as if I were on a journey through a mountain. Ironically, even had an opportunity to view the “infamous” Blue Ridge Mountains.
As always, it was good to be in the fellowship of Brothers. Have to appreciate the fact that quite a bit of what’s done in other districts nowadays, was begun in VACAPAF; Brothers were about their business. The sessions were good. The candidate’s forum was good. The time spent with the College Brothers was good. Looking forward to seeing the Brothers in Philadelphia.
However, one of the opportunities I was most appreciative of, was being able to sit in on the College Brothers Caucus, and participate in an unfiltered conversation with College Brothers. The Brothers definitely echoed valid concerns of all College Brothers throughout the Region; concerns that are not to different from the days we spent as College Brothers back in 1987.
With the surge in social media outlets, today’s College Brothers, moreso than before, is uniquely positioned to reach out and connect with Brothers of like-mind and determine the best course of action for our Organization. As I mentioned during the Caucus, I encourage College Brothers to remain ever vigilent and ensure to always “PROTECT THIS HOUSE!”
Have a great day!
P.S. Congratulations to all of the Brothers who were elected as officers of VACAPAF; and most of all to Bro. Stevon “Don” Armstead.” To be such a young Brother (in Alpha) he’s definitely focused on what’s “good for Alpha.” Do you remember how that felt?
