Your life’s vision

Huna KupuaAt the end of the old and beginning of each new year a good number of us spend time creating our list of new years’ resolutions. You know, the list of goals we set out to achieve and often forget before the first month of the new year has ended. Well, here’s a recommendation that may help to keep you focused on that ever-so attainable  list.

Certainly you’ve heard of the book and DVD “The Secret,” right? Well, a friend and I were discussing once that there’s nothing in this “Secret” we can’t find represented in “The Holy Bible” (or insert religious text/dogma here). While it may be written differently, its definitely there. Agree?

With that said here’s a suggestion that may be helpful for accomplishing your heart’s desire; while not a recipe for a “Get Rich Quick” scheme, it is a prescription that will lead to a path of happiness.

Step 1: Read Habakuk 2:1 – 3 (focusing on 2:2)

Habakuk 2:1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

Habakuk 2:2 And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run that readeth it.

Habakuk 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Step 2: Write the vision for your life on a notepad. This is the vision YOU foresee, not what another dreams or sees for you.

Step 3: Pray about it

Step 4: Place the note paper in The Holy Bible at Habakuk 2:2

Step 5: Meditate throughout the day/week on your vision

Step 6: Take steps (positive thoughts / action) to manifest the vision in order that it may come true

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not a “holier than thou” or heavy religious-type evangelist out to save the world – though that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Is it? However, I am a spiritual person who believes the Universe (i.e., God, Allah, Jehovah, Buddah Yahweh, etc.) gives back what you put in. This is an exercise I, too, have embarked upon – with great success, I might add.

For some, the realization may take  a few days or maybe a few weeks. Others a few months or even longer; but if you “tarry it will come to pass.”

What can go wrong? If you plan to create a list to resolve, why not do so with divine intent? Write the vision for your life (short or long-term). Pray for it (i.e., the vision). Once done, it will surely come to pass. Laus Deo! PBUH.

Is this worth a try?
